Course is designed to be a comprehensive and active review of the new Education Standards, providing both an overview of new information contained within the Education Standards at the EMT level and a source of continuing education.
24 hour course includes the following topics: preparatory – 1 hour, airway – 2 hours, OB/infants/children – 2 hours, patient assessment – 3 hours, medical/behavioral – 4 hours, trauma – 4 hours, elective – 8 hours and elective – 8 hours.
24 hour course DOES NOT include skills, it is designed for additional continuing education hours only.
Prerequisites: Students must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration and have a valid EMT License. Proof of EMT License must be provided to instructor on the first day of class.
Classroom Training: 3 days (8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with 1 hour lunch break) which includes classroom and skills training and final exam. Students must receive 80% or better on the final exam before course completion certificate is issued.
